Nutritional education

In 2005, with the aim of helping to disseminate the good practices that form the basis of primary prevention in order to improve and maintain welfare and prevent or reduce the occurrence of diseases, including serious diseases, the Consortium for the Protection of Grana Padano - the world’s best known PDO cheese - decided to implement a project that was both unique and innovative at the time.

In fact, at the start of the 21st century, only some institutions, such as the Italian Ministry of Health, and some Departments began promoting educational programmes on healthy lifestyle for Italian citizens of all ages.

The Consortium, inspired by the belief that a world-leading food consortium should also pursue goals that are not only directly linked to food as such, but also to nutrition as the foundation of human health, brought together a team of experts and launched the project that we like to call E.N.G.P.

Coordinated by a distinguished Scientific Committee, the project involves Scientific Societies, medical specialists, dieticians and communication experts who strive to implement its educational programme on a daily basis.

Goals
  • To disseminate the principles of balanced nutrition.
  • To promote the principles of a healthy lifestyle.
  • To provide the medical community with useful information and tools to improve nutritional counselling and disseminate the principles of primary and secondary prevention.
Today, the ENGP portal is the pillar of its digital strategy, which, over the years, has become a benchmark for millions of citizens and thousands of healthcare professionals.
