Foodex Japan 2019
Hong Kong
03.05.2019 - 03.08.2019
Consortium for the Protection of Grana Padano Cheese and Consortium of Prosciutto di Parma exhibited at Foodex Japan 2019 as a part of the ‘’Happiness from Europe’’ campaign. The purpose was the introduction of our PDO products to Japanese professionals.
The European Union awarded the Protected Designation of Origin status (PDO) to Grana Padano and Prosciutto di Parma in 1996. “PDO” is the best European recognition for specific agri-food products, and its link to the region where the product comes from. To be a PDO product, all stages of processing and transformation must take place in a defined geographical area.
In accordance with the original recipe, Grana Padano is made from raw partially skimmed milk obtained exclusively from cows within a clearly defined Production Area, following a meticulous maturation process that develops its unmistakable aroma. Parma Ham is also the highest quality product, thanks to the unique conditions of the Parma region and accomplished artisans. Parma Ham is a natural product, made without using any chemical additive.
In the shared booth, people could taste all different ripeness of Grana Padano cheese and Parma ham and understand the differences with all other products.
In addition, Consortium for the Protection of Grana Padano Cheese and Consortium of Prosciutto di Parma held a seminar to introduce the charms of both products with Mr. Paolo Marchi, Italian food journalist, and Mr. Toshifumi Nakahigashi, chef of “Erba da nakahigashi”.
