Desenzano del Garda, 5 October 2023 – From 7 to 11 October, the Consorzio di Tutela del Formaggio Grana Padano (Grana Padano Protection Consortium) will be in Cologne, Germany, to participate in Anuga 2023, the world’s bi-annual leading Food & Beverage trade fair.

Within the stand of the Association of Italian PDO and PGI Cheeses (AFIDOP), Grana Padano will team up with the other four Consortia of Italian dairy excellence: Asiago, Gorgonzola, Mozzarella di Bufala Campana and Taleggio.

General Manager, Mr. Stefano Berni, announced the Consortium’s participation in the German fair as follows: “Grana Padano is the product that increasingly represents the excellence of agri-food made in Italy: Grana Padano is an Italian feeling! But it is also the most consumed PDO cheese in the world, reaching a record export value of 1.6 billion euro in 2022.”
“Grana Padano,” continued Director Berni, “exports 47% of its certified production, showing a great and exemplary international commitment. 24.75% of the export of the certified production is exported to Germany, with 585,339 wheels (about 22,243 tons), which therefore confirms itself as main export market.”.

AFIDOP has organized a 3-day programme of activities that will animate the stand located in Hall 10.1, Stand F061G-G060 and will offer visitors an immersive experience in the world of Italian agrifood excellence with the opportunity to take part in unique tastings and discover the fascinating stories of the five exceptional cheeses.
